The normally packing materials are wood, cardboard, paper with then packages like boxes, bags, tins, tubes and bottles. These must sot with a big work and need more volume then foam When Styrofoam is produced then you need only 2% raw material from the whole volume, the rest is air, like you can see it in the follow picture. Pentane is the blowing agent and it is not use FCKW or softener.
Picture II.41: Volume of the raw material and of the Styrofoam after before foam You can Styrofoam recycle to 100% and 1994 70% were recycled. If one’s exchange the Styrofoam packing for other material then the raw material will be rise till 560% the energy consumption will be rise till 215 % and the rubbish volume will be rise till 150%.
Picture II.42: Utilization from the Styrofoam [4] You can Styrofoam recycle or reuse in different ways. The crushed Styrofoam rubbish is use as an additive in forms. Also the reclamation as Styromull is possible. Styromull is grinding Styrofoam, which can use as dung, compost and filter- and fill material. Further you can melt the stuff and so you make the raw material. Then that is use for injection modelling. The rest which is not come in to the cycle is bringing to the waste dump or combustion. At the waste dump the Styrofoam is crushed, because the other waste can `t decomposes. Here any water, air ore ground are not pollute, since Styrofoam is water and environment neutral. The sorting plant cans combustion the Styrofoam at 1000°C without rest. You can produce energy because 1 kg Styrofoam it’s the same like 1.2-1.4 L oil. The toxic part is smaller as you burnt paper or wood.
